who is involved?

12 corporate teams of up 22 people will take part in the GP Team Challenge. Selected by the company sponsor, they will be leaders facing very real identifiable business challenges, leaders who must deliver, newly formed teams or existing high potential teams.

At every level, the GP Team Challenge will be delivered by the very best in their field ... from pit lane to boardroom.

A coach, a race engineer and a team host will support each team during the Challenge. A professional racing driver will drive the team’s car.

The eminent judging panel who will review the teams and their performance at the start and end of the Challenge, will consist of individuals who have an unrivalled knowledge and track record in their fields of expertise.

Professor MARK JENKINS  Professor of Business Strategy and Director of Research at Cranfield School of Management.  He is also chairman of the European Case Clearing House (ECCH) and was a member of the RAE 2008 Panel for Business and Management. He is currently researching the role of knowledge and innovation in the development of Formula 1 motorsport.

Prior to joining Cranfield Mark held positions at Nottingham University Business School, Massey Ferguson Ltd and the Lex Service Group.  Mark's teaching and consulting activities focus on the areas of competitive strategy, knowledge management, teamwork and innovation.  Mark is the author of a number of books on strategic management issues, has published numerous journal articles and is on the editorial boards of British Journal of Management, Long Range Planning, Organization Studies and the Journal of Management Studies

Sir HUMPHREY WALTERS  recognised as one of the most successful motivational and personal development mentors in the UK, Sir Humphrey has worked with a wide variety and number of leading companies and professional sports teams.
He works exclusively in helping individuals perform to high levels as well as developing winning teams and leaders for many organisations and professional bodies.

He is a visiting fellow of Inspirational Leadership at the Henley Management College in the UK and lectures regularly on their Inspirational leadership programmes.

Dr. JEZDIMIR KNEZEVIC Well respected throughout motorsport, Dr Knezevic has a special interest in scientific aspects of business performance. He is a professor of engineering and proprietor of the F1 RE Centre, which facilitates the application of reliability, and effectiveness methods uniquely developed by his MIRCE Akademy to motorsport worldwide.

He is responsible for analytical and predictive system life cycle modelling of reliability, maintainability, supportability, maintenance, logistic support and cost. He regularly provides training programmes and technical services for industry and government organisations in these domains.

 

The Panel will also be joined by a widely respected and highly recognizable entrepreneur from the worlds of business and the media, who will bring considerable business expertise to the Panel, as well as an understanding of how businesses win.

A former British F1 driver will complete the Panel, bringing insight into the team dynamics necessary to be successful, as well as a very real understanding of motor racing.
