what is it?
The GP Team Challenge is a professional development programme for 12 teams that adopts proven techniques used by successful Formula One racing teams. It allows the business world to experience and learn the secrets of high performance teams and to immerse themselves in the turbulent, high-pressured, and dynamic world of Grand Prix motor racing. The key to the success of the GP Team Challenge is that it delivers measurable business results and a return on investment direct to the organisations that take part.
It is a class leading, exclusive (places limited to 12 teams) development programme.
The sole aim of the GP Team Challenge is the development of company performance through people. Making that development measurable by clearly identifying a business challenge at the start of the ‘season’, and measuring the team impact in monetary terms as a return on investment at the end.
Amongst others, each participating company team will have to achieve results in two specific areas:
• demonstrating business improvements and successfully completing their projects
• ‘on the track’ in the fast moving, disorientating, Grand Prix environment
It is the blending of these two elements that makes the GP Team Challenge very different as a management development programme. It is a defined process that combines the latest coaching techniques and management models with the dynamics of a Grand Prix team; the race, the competition, the focus on execution and teamwork and the will to win ... all qualities that an individual, management team or company require to succeed in a competitive, challenging environment.
The GP Team Challenge ‘season’ will last eight months culminating in 2 races at Silverstone against the other teams.
