FAQ's
“How will the business cope with so many people will be taken out of the organisation in one go?”
The GP Team Challenge is exactly what it says, it is a “team” challenge. The teams will be coached and trained throughout the programme towards the achievement of their challenge objectives but as importantly, the programme is designed to allow your key managers and stakeholders to have the opportunity to work in a cohesive, focussed, smarter, and faster way than they are used to, and as a result delivering much quicker and more significant returns to your business.
The added benefits for disparate and disjointed groups means that the GP Team Challenge will also enable the high influencers in your business to develop a “one company” mindset that will endure long after the Challenge is over.
“How will this programme relate to our business?”
How will it not? Surely every business is looking for growth, improvement in performance, or means of speeding up processes. The best way to do this is to involve those who influence the business in new methodologies and new techniques that will help you “up the tempo” and achieve quicker and smarter results. The GP Team Challenge is designed test the communication and adaptive skills of teams, creating “team meltdowns” to highlight the need for clearer thinking and improved communication.
After all, if you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you already have ….
“How much administration for the competing teams will there be?”
You will have almost nothing to organise. Your appointed GP Team Challenge coach will be in touch with you almost immediately to meet with your chosen team and to prepare them for the GP Team Challenge. We will work with your marketing and PR Directors/Mangers/Teams to ensure that you get the maximum business benefit from the programme both internally and externally.
The entire programme is mapped out from beginning to end in terms of what is required of participants; where they need to be, the timings and the logistics are all taken care of.
All you need to do is pick the team and set them the challenge, and we will do the rest.
“Isn’t it a bit elitist?”
The choice of the members of the team is up to you; anybody can take part – it certainly doesn’t have to be a team that is currently working together or from the same part of the organisation.
If there’s a particular project team that would benefit from the focus and new approach that the GP Team Challenge will give, then the team has chosen itself.
The Challenge business sponsor may decide to use the chance to take part in the Challenge as a performance incentive to the employees of the whole company.
“What about the environment?”
The cars will be running on biofuel - the GP Team Challenge takes the minimising the environmental impact of its business very seriously.
“Is it going to be dangerous for employees?”
The motor racing element of the GP Team Challenge is based around thoroughbred open wheeled race cars, and ends in 2 20 lap races, where the cars will reach speeds in excess of 150mph.
The cars will be driven by professional racing drivers who will become true members of their teams, and race engineers assigned to each team during their time at the circuit will ensure that safety is always the first consideration.
“Is there going to be a real return on investment for the business, that can be measured?”
The choice of project or KPM’s will determine that – the project that is completed ahead of schedule, at reduced cost etc will result in a measurable financial benefit to the business.
Targeted improvements in the chosen KPM’s will also have an easily identifiable business benefit.
These benefits will offset the programme costs.
“Who else is going to be in the team?”
Each competing team will be assigned a professional racing driver who will become an integral part of that team, and will be with them at the track based events. The teams will also be joined at the track by a professional race engineer who will coach them in the business of running a successful race team, pit crew tasks, etc and ensure that safety at the track is remains paramount at all times.
“Can we select a coach with relevant experience?”
The GP Team Challenge training and development partner has a large number of employed coaches from a wide range of business sectors with a wide variety of specialist knowledge and experience. If teams have particular requirements, these will of course be accommodated wherever possible.
